Waking up to what's here...
Life is calling you.. calling us.. each and every moment.. it whispers.. ever so quitely your name. It says, "Be here now my friend.. wake up to the world around you.. the life that's here within you and before you... take in the sights and sounds.. the smells the textures." Each and every moment it is whispering, "Be in this life that is here right now.. please come take part.. please come reach out and engage in wonder.. extend your arms to the lives that are around you and see, see that it is through your humanity and your connections that you find liberation from your suffering.. liberation from your pain."
Life is begging for your friendship.. for our friendship... there is such suffering in life for all of us but we can heal the suffering by being willing to be vulnerable, and as Tara Brach speaks of it, being willing to take that "exquisite risk"* to feel into what we are "not willing to feel" and open up to the life and the people that are here right now.
As we reconnect to ourselves we allow our armor to begin to melt away.. we become less defended and concealed and we allow ourselves to open up more naturally. Connecting to oneself happens in the still moments where we take pause, sit quietly, breathe into our being, bring our attention to our bodies and our sensations, honor what we are experiencing emotionally and physically, and we say yes to what is here right now.. what we are feeling right here, right now... sadness.. yes.. just honor the sadness if it is there... peace.. say yes.. if you notice a sense of serenity and peace just say yes and notice how it feels.. if it is tension and resistance.. say yes to that, too... yes, tension.. it's here.. just let it be what it is.. see the feeling... name the feeling and let it be.. honor it.. acknowledge it.. give it space.. let it breathe..
From this space of being open to and acknowledging and allowing our feelings, we invite our bodies to relax and to feel validated... to feel seen. Most all of us, in times of contraction and dis-ease, feel a sort of lacking, a sense of "less-than", insignificance or self-betrayal. This pain needs to be seen and validated to be softened and also needs a sense of compassion or loving kindness to fully release.
When I am in a state of contraction, pain or longing I know that I am resisting the life that is right here before me. Sometimes it is grief that I am feeling for things are not the way that I'd like them to be. Sometimes it is anger that I am feeling because I want more than what seems to be offered right now... sometimes it's fear as I am doubting my abilities and am overwhelmed by what I perceive to be happening in my world right now... no matter what it is.. I do my best to breathe into what I am experiencing and see the feeling. I do forget at times and overwhelm-ment happens... tears happen.. pain happens.. I lose my center... I feel groundless, disconnected, lost, alone. Then at some point... maybe on my own, maybe after contact from a friend, I return to my breathing. I connect to my heartspace, I rest in my faith, and I find my way back home, back connected to this life and my emotional experience and the wonder of it all.
I encourage you all to find a quite space. To sit quietly with yourself. Set a soft timer for 1-5 minutes and allow yourself to connect to your breathing. Connect to the rhythm of your breath. Ask yourself what you are feeling... Is this shame? Is this fear? Is this anger? Is this grief? No matter what it is, allow it to be there.. just give it space. If your mind wanders into your thoughts, that's ok, just notice the thinking, and come back to your breathing... In this way, you are beginning to make a space for your experience and are paving your way back home.
Here are some gentile words that I find helpful to read once I've re-centered myself. Read them as often as you need. I trust, that in time, all who want to return will find their way.

My life is beckoning me..
Open your arms and take flight
I am about to begin the journey of a life time
Trust in that
Trust that it will be ok
That you will be ok
That love will be there
That you at your core are love
Give love and embrace what's to come
Be big my friend
Let your essence fill the world with love
It's time to let go of living small
Trust in all you've been through and all you've learned
Trust that you are ready to embark on this part
of your journey
There Is no need to be afraid
Bow to your fear
and
Send it on it's way
Be who you are
Wake up to your true nature
Be the greatness that you
Are
Awaken to the source energy that runs through you
make peace with
and
Let go of the past
The past pain the past hurt
There is no burden now
Be
Become
Who you are
Meant
To
Be
Live beautifully my friends,
Heidi 💕
